By the way, I didn't have any updates pending so that wasn't stopping me from running or downloading the game. I guess it was a connectivity issue with the Windows servers. Now there is no guarantee this will work and that the game will work after re-downloading. I wanted to post this so if you feel tempted to get this game at a very low price (like myself) you can choose to knowing the port is pretty bad. I failed to do the proper research before and got burned. It's annoying and frustrating to spend even a fraction of that time troubleshooting to launch a game.
